I'm from UT Health San Antonio, can I use UTSA Libraries and resources now?

Answer

While UT San Antonio officially began on September 1, 2025, it will take a while for the integration of the library systems at UTSA and UT Health San Antonio. The Libraries and Collections Working Group will focus on integrating and enhancing library resources and collections across the institution. The goal of the group is to ensure seamless access to varied and comprehensive resources for all faculty, students, and staff, while also addressing the infrastructure and support needed to facilitate this integration. For more information, please visit the UT San Antonio Together website (see link below).

At this time, faculty and students from UT Health San Antonio can access most of the online resources at UTSA Libraries by visiting the John Peace Library or Downtown Library and utilizing one of our Guest Computers (see For Visitors link below). Off-campus access is a complex process, involving licensing agreements for hundreds of online databases and platforms, and will take some time.

UT Health San Antonio faculty and students are welcome to visit and use our physical spaces, apart from Individual Study Rooms, which are currently tied to a UTSA ID and Password.

Material on Reserve and Tech Gear items are only available for UTSA students.

Circulating books, media, and other physical items at UTSA Libraries can be checked out by:

  1. Using InterLibrary Loan (contact UT Health San Antonio Briscoe Library)
  2. Getting a TexShare card from your local public library (UT Health San Antonio is not a member of TexShare) - please see the link below.
  3. Joining the Community Borrower Program (see the link below)

If you have further questions about UTSA Libraries Resources and Services, please contact Pat Hawthorne, Executive Director at UT Health San Antonio Briscoe Library.
