What if the Library doesn't have a book or article I need?

Answer

Most of the time, we can borrow books, articles, videos, and other items from another library. We do not accept requests for textbooks, however, as libraries won't lend them beyond their own institution.

You can request material that we don't have by using the GET IT FOR ME service. Book chapters and articles will be made available online, usually within 48 hours. Physical items can take up to 10 days.

To check on a request, log in to MY LIBRARY ACCOUNT (top right of our website) and click on the REQUESTS tab.

For further assistance, use our Chat service to speak with a librarian, or contact Get It For Me directly at ill@utsa.edu, or call (210) 458-8340.
