Q. How can I digitize a VHS tape or DVD for streaming in my Blackboard course?

Due to copyright restrictions, we are not able to simply digitize all VHS tapes or DVDs in the library collections or owned by faculty. Each request has to be considered individually, based on the amount of content digitized, copyright ownership, available permissions, and fair use analysis.

If you are requesting clips of your content to be digitized, fill out Option A in the Media Digitization Request form below. Deliver the form and your media to the Academic Technology Office, BB 2.02.20L.

If you are requesting an entire VHS or other media to be digitized, follow the steps in Option B and C on the Media Digitization Request form below.

Digitized media will be available via the UTSA MEDIAL Library, formerly known as Helix Media Library, managed by the Academic Technology Office.
