Q. Can I read e-books from UTSA library on my e-Reader?

Answer

Want to know where to find e-books for your device?  Here is a quick summary of what we have available for popular eReaders:

Kindle

Many of our e-book collections offer each book chapter as a PDF file, which can be downloaded to your Kindle.  However, they are not formatted for the Kindle screen size.  San Antonio Public Library offers e-books in Kindle format through their Overdrive service, directions can be found on their website.

iPad, iPhone and iPod

E-books on the databases Ebook Central and Ebscohost can be downloaded once you install the free Bluefire Reader app, available in the iTunes store.  Many of our e-book collections offer each book chapter as a PDF file, which can be downloaded to your iPad in iBooks or a variety of PDF-reader apps available from the App Store.

Android Tablet and Phone

E-books on the databases EBL and Ebscohost can be downloaded once you install the free Bluefire Reader app, available in Google Play (formerly Android Market).  Many of our e-book collections offer each book chapter as a PDF file, which can be downloaded to your Android Tablet in Bluefire Reader or a variety of PDF-reader apps available from Google Play.

Nook Tablet

E-books on the databases Ebook Central and Ebscohost can be transferred to your Nook after downloading them to Adobe Digital Editions on your computer. Many of our e-book collections offer each book chapter as a PDF file, which can be downloaded to your Nook.  However, they are not formatted for the Nook screen size.
